The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) tested and found 16 medications made in Himachal to be of sub-standard quality. The samples of medicines that didnt match quality criteria, according to the CDSCO drug warning for January, were produced in Baddi, Kala Amb, Nalagarh, and Una.
The medications are used to treat nerve pain brought on by conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, hay fever, bacterial and fungal infections, cold allergies, joint, and muscle pain, etc. They also include calcium, vitamin D, and weight loss capsules.
The CDSCO analyzed a total of 1,348 medication samples from across the nation, and 67 were deemed to be subpar. Drug Control Agency (DCA) representatives stated that instructions had been issued to recall all medications that failed the CDSCO test. Also, letters have been sent to drug companies whose products failed the test, and their facilities will be investigated.
As many as 27 medications made in Himachal failed the quality test in CDSCOs drug alert for December, while 27 samples were deemed substandard in November, including 14 from a single pharmaceutical company, Nixi Labs, which is headquartered in Kala Amb, Sirmaur.
